Our hearts are saddened as we say Good Bye to our dear friend and fellow Kiwanian, Kenneth Allen. Kenneth was a great Kiwanian, community leader and a friend to all. Everyone will miss him.

Kenneth Nathan Allen, 30, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 21, 2016.

Kenneth was born in Asheville and was a son of Robert Sean and Annette Brown Allen. He was an honors graduate of North Buncombe High School and a graduate of Mars Hill College where he was a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda Fraternity.

He had been with First Bank for nine years where he served as Executive Vice-president and Branch Manager.

Active in civic affairs, he was involved with the Kiwanis Club, the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, the Manna Food Bank, Asheville Rotary Club, the BNI (Business Networking International), October Road and various other community organizations. He was a fundraiser for Loving Food Resources, Eblen Charities and All Souls Counseling Center and served on the Board of Loving Food Resources.

In addition to his parents, his family includes his brother, Steven Allen and wife, Samantha; grandparents, Bob and Frankie Allen; partner of 11 years, David Ayers; and many special friends, including Fred and Marcia Ayers, Jared Yates and Michael Manning; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was grandson of the late Mary Etta Hawkins.

A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any of the above listed organizations that he proudly served.
